Edward Ewart's Chassis No. 387 in the late 1970s

My father bought EL in 1972 for £2500 from Frank Ruston of Cockermouth. He sold it in 1981-82 to Gerry Malin Bonnyrigg Midlothian. When Gerry Malin wanted to buy the Bentley he walked into my father's public bar one night with a biscuit tin stuff full of tenners and twenty pounds notes and said, "Eddie! That’s ma lot!! Take it or leave?". Then they counted the cash out on the bar to the sum of £15000 in very used notes! The deal was done!!
When Gerry passed away, the Bentley passed on to his son Paul and was in great use till he sold her in 2012.
