For you Vintage Bentley enthusiasts that are without a Bentley or no longer have one, there are still reasons to join. In addition to their BDC Review, Diary and Advertiser, they also have an online newsletter, Full Throttle. The third issue arrived April 28th. Also, they have revised their web site. That includes restorers, parts suppliers and those offering services.

I would like to thank the following vintage Bentley enthusiasts for their recent contributions:

Can't we just get rid of ethanol?
By Jay Leno
Jay Leno went through the 70s, the 80s and most of the 90s without ever having read much about car fires. Now suddenly, they are happening all over the place. Here’s one reason: The ethanol in modern gasoline — about 10 percent in many states — is so corrosive, it eats through either the fuel-pump diaphragm, old rubber fuel lines or a pot metal part, then leaks out on a hot engine...

All I want is to be able to choose when to use ethanol-laced gasoline
By Jay Leno
No other column written by Jay Leno generated as much controversy as the one with the "Can’t We Just Get Rid of Ethanol?" piece. He has an ethanol-fuel vehicle — the E85 Corvette — and it runs fine on ethanol. "We built it that way. It’s fast!" he says. Today’s cars with modern fuel systems run fine on ethanol-laced gasoline. But his old cars don’t and he has no choice.

1929 In Retrospect

Published in "Motor Sport", December 1929

Another year has come to an end, another succession of epic battles has been fought out on road and track, and once more we may look back on the year that has passed and see how we stand for the future. There is no doubt that the 1929 season was eminently successful; we must see to it that the future is equally well filled with scope for the racing enthusiast.

How they are???

"Hello VintageBentleys.org,

So sorry to trouble you but just a hope you can put my mind at rest. On 1st May 2015 there was a dreadful road accident outside our property. My husband and I were first on the scene and spent time with the people involved until help arrived.
The road was closed for hours and it is only now that telegraph poles have been replaced and we have Internet and phones again.

The one vehicle was a Bentley Reg CWO 121 and we understand the driver was Vivian Bush. He and his lady passenger both left in 2 air ambulances and we simply wish to send our best wishes to them and hope that they are ok. They were both in a very bad way when we last saw them.

Sorry to trouble you but after finding pictures of the car on your site thought perhaps somebody may known how they are.

Kind regards
Sally & Dave Hiams"
