Have you ever received a letter from a former owner of your vintage Bentley? Or a relative of a former owner? To most Vintage Bentley owners the history of their car is very important. I recently received an email from a lady who was researching the history of her great aunt Mary of Colliston Castle, Scotland. She came across information on her great aunt's 1925 3-Litre Bentley which happens to be my FY 7290! She ended up contributing two 1927 photos from the family albums.

If you document what you have on your car and add it to your chassis page on our web site, the information will become available to former owners or their relatives who are wistfully looking out for a glimpse, or some information, of the grand machine they once knew. Connecting with former owners or their families will add more meaning to your relationship with your car.

I would like to thank the following vintage Bentley enthusiasts for their recent contributions:

Adrian Stevens, Alan O. Watkins, Alexander Romiszowski, Andrew Whittaker, Anne Moreton, Bernard, Bill Hughes, Bob Moggridge, Bob Rippon, Chris Jonas, Clive Broughton, Damian Jones, Dave Penttinen, David Benoit, David Brock-Jest, David Pocahontas, Dick Tilden, Don L. A Le Mans Win on a Shoestring
By Hamish Morten

At a VSCC Silverstone race meeting in the last '98 season, having had his own car scrutinised, a club member was having trouble with the Scrutineer over his daughter's car. Nothing mechanical — car fine — but dispute over distinct shortage of daughter, whose presence was demanded. He'd already explained it was impossible for her to attend — she was a nurse on night duty and couldn't arrive for another hour or more, but well in time for practice. The intransigent Scrutineer remained so.

Article from 1939
An Outstanding "Blue Label"

Published in "Motor Sport", February 1939

When Peter Clark said "she's rather good, as 'Blue Labels' go" and told us what she has cost him we realised that here was a unique opportunity to discover just what a sound but not abnormal 3-litre Bentley can do. Albeit, in matters of layout and equipment, Peter's car is distinctly individualistic. What she actually represents is a very late series "Blue Label" vintage 1928-29 with the original fabric saloon body replaced by cut-about sports two-seater carriage work...
