Stoneguards

"...These were first fitted as standard production on the 1926 short chassis (Red Label) 3 Litre Sports model, but the owners of some earlier cars had them made up to their own order by both the Gallay Radiator Company and the Searl Radiator Co.; I remember we fitted a few at the Service in Kingsbury, and the radiators were sent to either of the above firms for the stoneguards to be made up.

I cannot recall any particular instance where this was done, and this modification might not have been considered of sufficient importance to have warranted an entry in the Chassis Log Books, although some may have been, but this can only be established by reading through the books..."
