"This car was owned by my late father Norman Hood from 1936 to 1996. I have a brilliant album documenting the history of the car from his early ownership, through a major rebuild started in 1962 and participating in BDC events through the 60's 70's and 80's."

This car is for sale at Neil Davies Historic Racing as of Oct 21, 2008.

This speed 3 Litre car left the Cricklewood factory in May 1926 as a Speed Model Vanden Plas Tourer Body.

In 1936 the car was acquired by the Hood family in the West Midlands. In that year the car suffered from a broken conrod which opened up the opportunity fo fit a 4½ litre engine which was secured from a Gurney Nutting Saloon registration YV5471. The car remained in the Hood family for almost 60 years, Mr Norman Hood, the son of the original purchaser, commenced a rebuild in 1962 to the style it is today.

Built in the true Bentley ethos of competition and endurance, this car has an outstanding record, finishing 1st overall Liege Rome Rally 2001, 2004 and 2005 1st Emerald Classic. First in BRC Cornbury Sprint 2006 and 1st in Class 2007 Rally des Alps.

Ready to compete, this is a truly fast and competitive vintage car for race or rally. The car is also featured in the book "The Prides of Bentley" by John Adams and Ray Roberts.
