First International Bentley 8 Litre Rally, June 18-25, 2016
Team: Stephen & Phoebe Forsey, UK/SUI

Read article by Tamsin O'Brien.

Note by Franco Weibel, organiser of the Rally: This 3 Litre had participated for 3.5 days in the 8-litre Rally. It is owned by Steven Forsey, a Bentley Enthusiast and expert from childhood on. As he was our host to visit his watch manufactory in La Chaux-de-Fonds with the Rally group (I'd say Greubel-Forsey watches are among the world's top exclusive watches!!), and as he and his family are Bentley addicted since decades, we were happy to have Stephen with spouse Phoebe in the group even though they have here in Switzerland "only" a 3 Litre. - Sep 14, 2016

"A 1925 all matching numbers (including its original 1925 registration number YL 2965) Bentley 3 Litre Speed model original Van den Plas 4 seater open tourer.

Owned by Manchester Rubber Company until 1935 when it was acquired by J Adinsell who sold it to the last owner who passed his driving test on his 17th birthday in the car nearly 60 years ago. It has the correct Speed Model twin sloper carbs and its original 1925 handbook. The car comes with detailed history (mostly since the last owner bought it) which includes considerable expenditure on a fairly recent complete engine rebuild to the VERY highest of standards at great expense. The car has astonishingly good brakes as it has been fitted with a Clayton Dewandre servo and converted to a hydraulic system. Presently the car is fitted with incorrect but powerful Marchal headlights. I do have a spare set of original headlights from a previously owned 3 Litre if you are a purist and do not want to see at night! In the Twenties Bentley was the supercar.

It won Le Mans in 1924 and every year from 1927 to 1930. This is a particularly nice driving example with a unique history. Over the Easter holidays it successfully completed a 700 mile trip in France and Belgium frequently topping a good 80 MPH plus.

Colour: Black with maroon wings; Drive: RHD; Type: Cabrio/Roadster; Year: 1925; Chassis No. 1129; Engine No. 1129"
