Bentley Drivers Club 75 anniversary,
and is touring England and the continent.

Ironstone Lane the headquarters of
the BDC."

Photograph was taken
at a Bentley Drivers Club meeting
at the Police Headquarters in Hutton
near Preston Lancashire. The man in
the flat cap smoking a pipe is my
father. In front of my father, Henry
Philip Rippon, is my brother (a fighter
pilot in W.W. II) and in between them,
his head just visible, is another
of my brothers. We were a large family
of five boys and two girls!!

According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder
records, this car was originally fitted
with Body No. 1139 with a long wheelbase
3-door 4-seater Sports; eggshell black;
2/1925.
Michael Hay, in his book Bentley:
The Vintage Years, 1997, states:
"Vanden Plas body no. 1139. Speed
model engine, 14/53 axle." |
