In 1924 Frank Fox Director and Proprietor of The Vanden Plas coach-building company ordered MH 4827. It was Vanden Plas’s 60th body for Bentley and their 47th for a 3 Litre, but it was the first and only Bentley for the Fox family’s personal use. Vanden Plas were chosen by Bentley to build their cars best bodies including all the Bentley Works Team racing cars. The Bentley Order Book records Chassis No. 703 with Engine No. 697 as “The Golden Bentley”. W.O.Bentley attributed the “Golden” nomenclature to MH 4827 because Frank Fox specified the car to have solid brass radiator and fittings instead of the standard nickel type.

In 1948 its engine was swapped with an engine from a Green Label Bentley and in 1952 was shipped to the USA returning to the UK in the early 1990s. In 1995 MH 4827 was reunited with it original engine.

Today the car is presented in rather original condition with all its numbers matching, an excellent and extensive history file, and MOT.
