"The car wasn't written off in the sense of today, where it would be
scrapped, but it was involved in a rather serious accident. The car was rebuilt with
the current body and a new engine. Car last known in South Africa in 2007 when it
was for sale." |

According to original Vanden Plas Coachbuilder
records, this car was originally fitted
with Body No. 3251 with a sporting 4-seater;
scratched aluminium and black. It was
delivered to Eric Knowles.
Michael Hay, in his book Bentley:
The Vintage Years, 1997, states:
"Vanden Plas body no. 3251. Salmons
d/h coupe ex ch. 994 fitted after 242
crashed. Eng 244 scrapped. Engine 986
ex 994 also fitted. In South Africa." |
