"Dave Bowman's 6½ Litre KR2692 in Taranaki during a Riley Car Club National Rally in 1968. Dave is accompanied by his two sons in the back seat and a visitor from Hawkes Bay. Those standing nearby are the late Clive Brownhill and Alan Wells, Glynn Williams, and the late Doug Dickenson. We don't remember why Alan is wearing only one shoe."

"6½ litre, chassis KR2692, outside 237 Lyttelton St, Christchurch in the 1950s. In the photograph on right it is still wearing those dreadful carburettors installed by Bruce Johnston, before Andrew Anderson and Selwyn Jackson found its original Smiths carburettor. Selwyn at that time lived with his parents at 62 Cobham St, where there were half-acre sections, and Andrew remembers that pigs and chickens lived on the property too."

(John McDonald is a photographer and MG historian based in Christchurch. He has sent these images to the NZ Rolls Royce & Bentley Club. Photos taken by an MG enthusiast in the early 1950s.)
