History of 4½ Litre Bentley HF3193 (Page 4 of 5)
Report by Clare Hay, 2009

Inspection of Car
As now the chassis and running gear of HF3193 are remarkably original, and as far as I am aware it is in largely unchanged form since Bentley Motors’ and Vanden Plas’ overhaul in 1931. However the pedal shaft has at some date been changed for a plate clutch unit, with plate clutch pattern trunnion bearings to the chassis side-rails. The front strut gear upright has been shortened on each side to match. The unusual cable-operated Triplex telecontrols are still in place, and the sump has been extensively repaired, consistent with engine damage in 1935. It has interesting and unusual history and although the body has been altered it is fair to say it is still the original Harrison body, by continuous history.
