This car was bought by Clive Morley in 2008.

Information received from Clive Morley:
Car built in 1938 on a 1926 9" supersports chassis bought from Bentley Motors and a 1928 4½ engine. Was ANT 628 now GSU 757. Currently with a 2-seater body. Bought off the Avons in 2008 now being raced by the Morley Family.

This car is featured in Michael Hay's The Vintage Years 1919-31 in 'Notes to Tables' that reads:

The works created an NR series of 3 litres as 1926 models by rebuilding and renumbering unsold 1925 chassis-viz also chassis 283/623. There was a 3 litre in America that has not been heard of since 1961 that was built in 1938 by a gentleman who went to the service department at Kingsbury and paid £5 for a short chassis frame and built possibly the first 'Bitsa' (reg ANT 628). This car was latter changed to GSU 757.

As quoted in "Bentley Specials and Special Bentleys" on page 72, the engine was put into the Chassis in 1938.

The car was essentially a 4½ with a 4½ bulkhead, radiator, axles and steering box until Humphrey avon converted it into a 2 seater supersports with the help of Rod Jolley.

I purchased this car in September 1960 in England and shipped it to the USA -- also in '60. I believe I sold it in the late 60s in Cleveland Ohio -- to who I do not remember. I was wondering if she is still around and if you know where -- I think she was sold into the mid-west somewhere.

This is what I remember of her:
-Two seater with top and fold down wind shield -- very little room behind the seats
-Large outside fuel tank behind the body with a luggage rack above it -- no fuel gauge -- I used a notched stick!!!
-Engine was 41/2 liter, two mags, two spark plugs per cyl, twin slopper S.U. carbs, cone clutch(?) and accelerator pedal in between the brake and clutch. Hand brake inside.
- I believe it was a short chassis, I do not remember if the wheelbase was 10ft or shorter -- it was definitely shorter than the standard 41/2.
-I do not know who made the body or when.
- Registration #ANT 628
