The Story of Lionel Burrell at LeMans in 1969
Drove his 3-litre at the 50th anniversary of the 24-Hour race

Dear Robert, Late in the 1960s I was Art Editor on Autocar. As I had a 3-litre Bentley, Sammy Davis, a renowned works driver and sports editor in the 20 and 30s, asked if I would take my 3-litre over to Le Mans for the 50th anniversary of the 24-Hour race. I jumped at the chance. We, i.e. Sammy and I, were to drive round the circuit just before the start of the race. Here is the story of my drive to Le Mans and the fantastic and memorable weekend. Hope your readers enjoy it.
- Kind regards, Lionel Burrell (KLY 3), 9th Sep, 2016
