1922 3 Litre Reg. No: CA 4766 Engine No: 88 Chassis No: 84

This car with a saloon body built by Lawton & Goodman was first registered in 1922 by Mr. Pope of Cardiff who kept her until 1938. It is an early model with no front wheel brakes, a Smiths updraft carburettor, castor oil filled shock absorbers and beaded edge tyres. "On longer trips I use a set of conventional tyres because of the replacement cost of beaded edge tyres". The car then went through many owners until Cyril Wadsworth found her in a very rundown state in the early I950s He completely and very professionally rebuilt her back to original specifications and enjoyed the care of Dick and Barbara Phillipson who brought her to South Africa for the 1983 Vintage Bentley Tour, when they sold it to Stuart. Since then she has participated in many local tours including John White's vintage Bentley tours, but after a lost con rod in 1994, she underwent a complete rebuild and is running well again, doing her fair share of weddings, including two of Stuart's daughters. Letters and records indicate that XL 4766 has covered in excess of 440,000 to date.
